Description of the investment:

The purpose of the investment consisting in the construction of a gas cogeneration installation was to increase the investor's energy efficiency and improve air quality by introducing heat production combined with electricity production.

As part of the project, Radpol supplied over 300 meters of the complete UV Protect COLOR preinsulated piping system, including all fittings (arches, fixed points, valves) and UV Protect radiation crosslinked heat-shrink joints, for the construction of the overhead heating network.

In the project documentation, the investor planned to use pipes in the casing made of galvanized sheet steel "SPIRO" type, however, after familiarizing himself with the technical specification and long lasting benefits of a new  preinsulated UV Protect COLOR system, decided to replace the pipes in the casing "SPIRO". For the construction of his heating system, the investor chose the grey color of the casing. In RADPOL's offer, customers can choose the color of the casing for whole UV Protect system, including fittings and connection joints.

UV Protect COLOR pipes have a casing made of specially modified HDPE resistant to UV radiation. They are also resistant to mechanical damage, chemical agents, rust, changes in ambient temperatures and ensure full tightness for a minimum 30-year maintenance-free service life.

The application of the UV Protect COLOR technology from Radpol significantly reduces the actual costs of pipeline operation in the long-term perspective. This is due to service free maintenance with no rust failures as it may happen with steel casing. RADPOL produces a complete system UV Protect COLOR up to DN 630 mm of casing pipe diameter.

The project of building a gas cogeneration installation was co-financed by the European Union under the Operational Programme "Infrastructure and Environment 2014 - 2020". - Measure 1.6 "Promoting the use of high-efficiency cogeneration of heat and electricity based on useful heat demand".
