Bactericidal heat-shrinkable tubes from RADPOL are made of a special polymeric material with an addition of a nanocync, which reliably inactivates bacteria and other microorganisms in a very short time.

The effectiveness of germicidal RADPOL heat shrink tubing has been laboratory confirmed by the Institute of Polymer Materials and Dyes Engineering in Toruń.

RADPOL's bactericidal heat-shrinkable covers are designed for use in all public utility facilities where there is a risk of transferring microbes, e.g.: hospitals, health centres, pharmacies, waiting rooms, offices, banks, self-service stores, shopping malls, public transport, gyms, playgrounds, offices, clubs and restaurants, universities and schools.

When heated, the tubing takes the shape of the element on which it has been shrunk, forming a tightly adherent layer of antimicrobial character.

The antimicrobial activity of RADPOL tubing remains after it has been washed with detergents, alcohol, chlorine agents and disinfectants.

Cover application

The assembly of antimicrobial heat shrinkable covers is quick andeasy. To achieve permanent and effective biological protection onthe protected component, the following rules should be followed:

  • Heat shrinkable covers are shrink wrapped using hot airblowers. Capable of heating the cover above +120°C.
  • Place the cover over the surface of the item.
  • Set the blower temperature between +120 and +200°C. Theshrinking temperature should not exceed +200°C as the heatshrink tubing material may overheat.
  • Start shrinking it from the middle. Heat the cover all around,making sure that the shrinking is even. The middle part of thecover must shrink and adhere tightly to the surface of the tube.
  • Shrink the cover from the center to the ends. Heat the casingevenly, moving the heat source all the time over its surface, soas not to cause local overheating. A properly shrunken casingshould be smooth, without bulging notches.
  • Allow the coated element with the cover to cool completely.
